The Mythic Partiers have departed back to various parts of
the globe, and Tierramitica is gearing up for its first Magic Journey of the
New Year. But for upwards of a week, revelers from all six continents (excluding,
of course, Antarctica) came together in Tarapoto to celebrate the marriage
between Mikis Hasson (the founder of Tierramitica) and his lovely bride, Lies
Demets. Astrologically, the stars were in alignment. It was both a Super New Moon,
an ideal time for new beginnings, as well as the birthdays of both Mikis and
Lies – clearly a union set in the stars. The ceremony itself involved the
participation of friends and family. A cascade of icaros came forth, sung by our western guide & maestra Sara Tongson, as the entire group held hands in union. The shamanic wedding had
it all – after the ceremony there was a feast of brick oven roasted chicken,
jungle fruits, and a delicious homemade wedding cake in the shape of Mickey & Minnie Mouse. The ceremonial floor
shook with music and dancing, roaring through the jungle and upwards toward the
stars. The rainy season is approaching here, and eventually cleansing rains began to
descend, but not before Chinese Lanterns were released to the night sky in a
symbolic act of love and celebration.
But there was so much more than simply the wedding night
itself. It was, after all, a full week’s worth of celebrations. Although heavy
rains required some schedule rearrangement, we were never wanting for events or
activities & nothing could dampen our spirits! There was a pizza party, two movie nights in our jungle cinema, and
countless other parties and celebrations.
Luis Tamani with his completed mural in Chocopelli |
We were completely blessed & honoured to have an entourage of visionary artists spend the week here. A huge thank you to Luis Tamani, Juan Carlos Taminchi & Julio Cabrera Suncion! When not
celebrating along with us, they were busy producing magnificent works of
art to embellish and beautify Tierramitica’s new art studio/gallery,
Chocopelli which was inaugurated by this event. Luis Tamani led a “healing through art”
session & Shamanic artist Juan-Carlos Taminchi guided the Mythic Partiers through
a ceremony designed to cleanse and open the third eye, in preparation for
everyone’s contribution to the collective art project. Amazingly, the
collective minds of everyone created a beautiful mandala which represented by color the four elements – earth water, fire, and air, aligned with
the four cardinal directions.
The Mythic Party people
Our very own TierraMitican Ferdinand Tongson led the group through a
shamanic re-birthing ceremony. For many, it provided powerful visions and
insights. It also prepared the group for the optional Ayahuasca ceremony, which
took place two days later. Through the guidance and clarity of Mikis,
intentions were brought forth to the Grandmother Ayahuasca. Guided by the
beautiful icaros of Shipibo Maestros Manuel and Segundo, and
Maestras Leonilda and Hermelinda, visions were manifested, profound insight was gathered,
and significant healing took place for all who participated. The final two days
were spent in a glow of love and light. While we were sad to see so many
partiers disperse across Peru and elsewhere across the globe, we were overjoyed
that three partiers, Christina, Jason, and Anthony were voted in by the
Tierramiticans to join us here as volunteers. Welcome guys to our home & family!!! Mikis
and Lies leave soon on their honeymoon to Europe, while the rest of
Tierramitica gears up for the Magic Journey, which begins as soon as our first
Journeyers arrive here on the 29th. Be sure to check out the full Wedding, Party, and Art albums on our Facebook Page here.
