Faces of triumph!

Wow what Mythic Voyage the December Yin & Yang proved to be for everyone who participated, it was a Mythic Voyage of many firsts and many successes.

It was the first workshop to be dedicated to sexuality, polarity, the masculine & the feminine energies and to explore relationships and sexual practices. Spectacular transformations took place in front of our eyes and we are all extremely happy & proud to have hosted everyone through their process to take control of their futures & relationships. We had the honour of participating with Aurita who owns the title of “most successful Mythic Voyages", completing her fifth one with flying colours. Awesome stuff Aura you showed us how it's done!

To everyone who is sorry they have missed out on the Yin and Yang, the good news is there will be another opportunity to come and do one in the future. This was the first ever Mythic Voyage that had all of the TierraMiticans participate as Argonauts whilst taking care of the hosting on top of the workshop. Everyone was amazing at pulling together and doing what needed to be done to make sure everyone was well fed & taken care of. What a team! Gourmet food as always was on the menu and being 15 days long (the longest Mythic Voyage in its history!) there was plenty of coffee too!

Every single ceremony was spectacular thanks to our amazing Shipibo Maestras & Maestro who took people deeper than they could have imagined and enabled them to discover many new insights into themselves and their behaviours. Congratulations to Koala Bear & Lies Demets for stepping into the role of Ceremony leader for their first time with ease & big hearts. You were awesome girls and showed your strength and courage on the floor. Good stuff!

Mikis our fierce guide of the Voyage helped us discover that we can be great and showed us that we can all live enlightened lives filled with pride and happiness. Thank you Mikis for all the gifts you have helped us find these past 15 days and more. Your capacity to love and give clarity to everyone is truly inspiring. 

And so now TierraMitica is gearing up for the spectacular fun that is The Mythic Party! We could not be more excited to be hosting family, friends and many new potential volunteers whilst basking in the celebration of the wedding of Mikis & Lies. A big shout to everyone who loves love, wants to celebrate life and is looking for an excuse to come to Peru and visit our beautiful jungle paradise, TierraMitica! Wow have we found the best reasons ever.................The Mythic Party!!

For the duration of 9 days, from the 17th till the 26th of January, the beautiful gates of our TierraMitica will be open to the people we love, our family and friends and everybody who wishes to join us in celebrating Love, with our main event on the 20th of January: the Shamanic wedding of Lies and Mikis, the leader of TierraMitica and guide of our legendary & unique transformational holistic ayahuasca workshop The Mythic Voyage.

This is the first time we will be publicly giving amazing insights into our true passion here, the magic we live and the workshops we give that change peoples lives and uncover their destinies. The week will also feature a celebration in honour of Mikis Hasson’s book ‘A Mythic Voyage’, which will be published at this time and Mikis will be treating everyone with the first ever public reading from his book.

To everyone wanting to be a part of our TierraMitica, we are happy to announce our new work exchange program. In the past it was crucial for people to do a Mythic Voyage before joining the community to understand our philosophy, the work we do, who we are and how we wish to live, think and feel here in the jungle. Now for the first time we have decided to open our doors to meet more like minded people and welcome them into our home. TierraMitica has decided to take 6 new volunteers on the events conclusion. 

There is no set criteria but we are looking for people that want to create art, work hard and contribute to our beautiful jungle paradise. People looking for a happy and mythic life whilst learning and growing here in the community. THE YIN AND YANG MYTHIC VOYAGE, DECEMBER 1ST TO THE 15TH 

We could not be more excited to give you an insight into our upcoming December Mythic Voyage, The Yin and Yang. A workshop designed for people wanting more from their relationships, their love and themselves. The Yin and Yang Mythic Voyage is dedicated to the dimensions of sensuality, sexuality and polarity. The sensual dimension is the interaction between our senses and the universe, it is our bridge between the manifested and the unmanifested, the potentiality, ideas, inspirations, insights, inspirations, feelings, choices. The integral polarity of everything that provides the spark for everything, the poetry, symmetry and elegance of all. It is special because it will last a full 15 days, the longest and deepest Mythic Voyage ever by a huge margin.

It will be deeply transformative as a result, and a true test of intention. It is going to take place from Monday, December 1st 2014 until Monday December 15th and it is a very special event!

The Myth of the Goddess Ayahuasca as told around fires in the jungle of the Ucayali*

There was once a village, deep within the lush jungle, where people struggled to survive, cultivating the earth during the dry season, fishing when the waters rose and scavenging the tropical forest. In the middle of the village, there was a huge and ancient tree, and since times immemorial there was a taboo attached to this old grandfather tree. It was strictly forbidden to either climb or even just dare to touch its majestic branches. It was an unimaginable, unfathomable sin to even think of tasting its mysterious fruits, and all the area under the tree was undisturbed and untrodden, full of never tasted fallen fruit. Even the birds refused to scavenge them, maybe genetically afraid through generations of ancestors stoned for their impudence.

It just so happened that an inquisitive rebellious and restless boy was growing ever bolder, and kept asking everybody why the prohibition existed, but never got any answer other than whispers of admonitions to cease asking such preposterous and blasphemous questions. Maybe everybody was too afraid to speak or maybe the taboo was so old that nobody remembered its origin, having been taught to respect it, no explanation ever offered.

The boy, itching with curiosity, could not accept this mystery and one day when nobody was watching, secretly entered the forbidden circle, climbed to the top of the enormous tree, hiding among its ample foliage. He stayed hidden for hours, enjoying the spectacular aerial view all around him. He observed entranced the life of the village and saw many things and behaviors hidden until he grew hungry and thirsty. Hesitantly he reached out, picked, smelled and sampled the old Grandfather tree’s soft purplish brown fruit. Soon after, abruptly, his heart opened wide, he felt a flow of pure love for the tree, the jungle with all the creatures in it and his fellow villagers. He was in instant ecstasy and drowning soporifically in overwhelming feelings, rivers and oceans of feelings. He looked down and saw everybody with a new eye, seeing, feeling for the first time their fears and anxieties as if they were his own and saw them as himself, understood their behavior and a spontaneous laughter bubbled up his spine filling him with joy, just as streams of tears were flowing from his deepest insides. He started singing and shouting, inviting everybody to climb the tree, assuring them there was no danger, wanting all his new loved ones to experience and share his ecstasy.

The villagers were reluctant at first, but soon enough the children, being less inhibited, started to climb and eat the fruit, soon finding themselves joined in a feeling of goodwill, unity, brotherhood and love, experiencing the exquisite sensation of happiness and oneness. The adults, initially frozen, seeing the elation in the faces above and hearing the playful songs of the children, soon overcame their terrified reluctance and climbed up as well, joining the hugging, singing and the celebrations for the discovery of this amazing state of ecstatic adoration for all; they became children, pure and free to express their essence finding love and openness in every face.

Little time was lost before the ancient tree was full of joyous people, when with creaking sounds the proud, living relic started rising to the heavens, its millennial withered roots violently unearthed and dangling; shedding clouds of worms, soil and dust. A brilliant warm light encompassed its foliage drawing it to the sky as the last roots wriggled out of the earth, slowly liberating it from its bonds, allowing it to soar, when suddenly!!!

A heart breaking mother’s scream shattered the moment; a little girl had been forgotten behind and was now crying, looking wide eyed and powerless at her mother and everybody else leaving her behind, jumping in vain trying to reach the roots that were already a few meters over the ground, vibrating and raring to go..

The desperate scream of the mother seeing her toddler’s pained and frightened eyes pierced the heart of the Goddess Ayahuasca and awoke her from her serenity. She was resting beyond time on a fluffy, thick, brilliant white cloud. Her full consciousness rocket like descended from the heavens where she dwelt; her grandmother soul took in the scene of the drama below, and without hesitation, dropped down instantly transforming herself into a thick rope like braided vine. She let herself fall like a plant comet to the earth, one end finally grabbing a branch, wrapping itself around it like a monkey’s tail, the other dropping coiled around the desolate child. 

The villagers all shouted to the child to grab the vine and soon she was taken aloft, just as the living spaceship catapulted itself upwards with a tremendous roar of joy; accelerating insanely to the skies. The little girl was soon lovingly ensconced in her mother’s arms, the magical fruit easily restoring joy and laughter to her face.

With all willing souls aboard, the spaceship continued its voyage to the home where beings of love and light reside when their souls mature. It soon reached its destination, the place of Light.

The Goddess Ayahuasca, her purpose fulfilled, chose to remain  on earth as a sacred vine, to serve as ladder and pathway to the heavens for all laggardly beings left behind, making it her role, her happiness, her life purpose to sacrifice her celestial position for the good of every pure child’s soul needing a helping hand to fly beyond its tethers. A ladder to climb and join the brilliant beings of love in the kingdom of Light…a kingdom full of inviting thrones, one for any being that wishes to be king or queen, and infinite ones waiting to be claimed.

Intention and Ayahuasca Memories

The psychotropic properties of DMT, the active ingredient in the Chacruna leaves that give Ayahuasca its hallucinogenic properties and the deep emotional, physical, energetic and spiritual journeys of discovery of our heart, the divine and the universe are well known and have been researched exhaustively, especially during the last few years and the expansion of its usage. Many books have been written, both from spiritual energetic perspectives and scientific research and analysis.

But Ayahuasca is not just any psychotropic, and that does not only refer to  its many spiritual aspects  as a divine jungle goddess, a wise but stern grandmother, a master plant teacher and much more. As an indigenous plant medicine or drug it is not just DMT and the enzymes necessary to assimilate it; The ayahuasca brew presents gifts and surprises that other psychotropics barely touch, and if so, randomly and  haphazardly.

Unrestricted, uncensored access to our memory banks is one of those gifts

There are four kinds of memories that we cannot access at will:

1.       All memories of events or feelings that occured before our brains developed our archiving system; The age varies, but for most humans very few memories, if any survive before the age of five or six. Earlier memories are sporadic and exist mostly due to repetition and discussion by family or friends. We just do not possess a reliable filing and memory organization system to retain them, so they mostly go to a huge junk file.

2.       All memories that we have taught and instructed ourselves to discard as junk; Things that are unimportant to us. Every waking moment, every second we are live recorders of everything. Video, sound, sensation, all are constantly recorded. On our daily 10 minute ride or walk we see and record every tree, every leaf, every face, absolutely everything yet retain the memory of a tiny percentage: that which calls our attention on the particular moment. Our minds constantly need to discard 99.9999% of information to ensure sufficient  space available in our brains for processing.

3.       All memories that we have actively hidden from ourselves due to trauma. Intense fear, emotional pain, guilt, shame, disgrace cause a decision to never revisit a memory again, and these are the kind of memories that psychiatrists, psychologists and psychoanalysts look for. Slowly, through years of counselling they try to create an atmosphere of trust to allow these memories to be coaxed out and processed, hopefully healing or ameliorating the trauma.

4.       All genetic memory of life since the beginning of the universe. The memory that allows us and every creature to know how to breathe, how to function. And the memories of everything before that. All genetic material on earth is finite. None of it gets destroyed, none escapes beyond the atmosphere and infinitesimal amounts get in. Genetic material is just constantly metamorphosing into new forms of life, which constantly feeds on and process itself. The big eat the small and the small eat everyone. It is an almost statistical certainty that every single human being has hosted cells from Jesus Christ and from most forms of life on our planet. The huge pool of engraved memory already present in us allows us to develop skills already mastered, such as breathing, digesting and walking.

Ayahuasca has the gift to allow access to all of them. Imagine our memory banks as a giant football field. On this field, dunes and clouds of trillions of moving yellow Post It papers; Some of them hidden under mountains of other nondescript Post Its, many of them randomly positioned and others intricately disguised. When we take an Ayahuasca ceremony, we fly through this football field in every direction and little sticky papers of memories attach themselves to us; Some of them stay for a while and then float off to be replaced by others. Some stay throughout and allow relevant papers to stick as well, some are too heavy to carry and discarded, some manage to stick no matter what. Whatever is left is the actual true impact of the ceremony. Sometimes we experience the Big Bang, life through the body of a worm, a jaguar, a rock or a blade of grass. Sometimes what sticks is the memory of a loving moment when we say that we were never loved; Sometimes a memory of another life, of childhood events, of feelings, sometimes the memory of a discussion with God, the divine, sometimes an amazing insight.

Working the ceremony with a specific, focused intention can make the Ayahuasca ceremony a fully navigable experience. A tight, focused intention in the form of a mantra that is constantly repeated is like an automatic system to collect mostly relevant information and to use the magical qualities of the Ayahuasca to actually explore things consciously. To pose masculine restraints, firm river banks for the feminine water of memory, insight  and healing to flow freely within us and to achieve actual lasting, transformational  insights. Actively guiding the experience to avoid endless trippy distractions and to ask from the grandmother answers to specific issues is like turbocharging the ceremony, especially if the intention is kept religiously throughout the ceremony. Huge answers and insights usually only come to those who persist and show their intention to get to the bottom of whatever they are seeking

Change is life!

Hello Everybody!

Here we are again with a brand new blog post, and the amount of news is humongous on all levels: TierraMitica is following a new course, the TierraMiticans have made life choices, old art projects were finished, new projects were created and are being realized and so much more! First of all and most importantly: The Mythic Voyage is no longer the only focus point of TierraMitica! Now we also offer a retreat for those who seek healing, a profound spiritual experience and wish to do so under the best conditions and while having FUN! We proudly present to you: Drum roll, please: The Magic Journey!  A retreat that is about celebrating life with the human family, going into the subconscious and meeting with and learning from the Grandmother Ayahuasca and all of this in our jungle paradise with the best Shipibo shamans, in TierraMitica. As for our personal lives, we (Sara, Ferd, Jake, Lies, Metsa, Asa and Leanne aka Koala) all committed to living and working here for the next two years and becoming full partners of TierraMitica. This means that instead of being volunteers who can leave at any given moment, we have all decided to put all of our focus and effort into turning TierraMitica into our home, to give it everything, absolutely everything we got, because we all fell in love with TierraMitica, and we want it to not only keep existing, but keep expanding for generations to come, because we love ourselves and trust that we together can do this! OH YEAH!!!!!!!

On a different note, several art projects have been finished since our last blog post and it is about time we give them the attention they deserve!

The Pequeño, the smallest room of TierraMitica, is now the most exuberant one, fully painted by Lies with the story of her search for love and happiness. She painted in this room for months and as the painting evolved and changed, so did she and her life, pure magic!

Jake finished his totem pole, now it stands proudly on the Lakota hill. He put all his love and care into the carving and painting of it, and the result is magnificent!

In the Meditation labyrinth now stands proud and tall our Tierramitican giraffe, Jeffrey! Ferd dreamt of a giraffe in Tierramitica since long and ultimately decided to create one himself, and it turned out to be the coolest giraffe in existence!

On the construction front, we are in the process of completing Chocopelli, our Art Studio, with a spectacular open view towards our gorge. From the outside it will look like a creamy chocolate bonbon, waiting to be tasted, and all of us here at TierraMitica cannot wait to dive in and start painting and sculpting in there!

For those of you who are interested in coming for the Yin and Yang Mythic Voyage: we recently decided to open it up to everyone who wants to join in! The reason is that some Argonauts want to take their inexperienced partners and we decided that this should be possible. It remains the next level of the Mythic Voyage:  a 15 day long workshop, more intense than ever. Mythic Voyage, March 2014

Ola amigos y amigas de Tierramitica!

We are very happy to announce that the first Mythic voyage of 2014 has finished! Not only was it the first of 2014, it was also the first Mythic Voyage where nobody quit! We had our first Finnish, Portuguese and Israeli Argonauts,  Wendy stepped up as first assistant,  Galina hosted for the first time, Jake did his first steps on the floor and we had the biggest group in the history of TierraMítica.

 As always, the Mythic Voyage isn’t over till it’s over and on the last day, magic happened. Everybody bathed in gold dust, sprinkling  down from the divine, straight into our hearts, OOOH YEEEAAAH!!!

We were very very happy to embrace 14 beautiful, courageous and mythical beings, who came together from all over the world, becoming true family. They are now scattering over the world once more, to brighten their lights further and shine upon their loved ones back home and everybody they encounter. Our hearts are with you, Erik, Esa, Mila, Minna, Ari, Juha, Teija, Anna, Sirpa, Nicole, Nir, Fernando, Julius and Holly! Holly decided she wants to be part of TierraMítica as a volunteer and the community unanimously agreed. Welcome home, Holly!

We are also very much looking forward to seeing Jens and Asa back, who have been on their honeymoon and will be joining us again in a couple of days! We have been missing the awesome drumming of Jens and his pancakes and the lovely smile and amazing cookies of Asa .

As for the structural development of TierraMítica, the first preparations for our next building are done. The God Lab, our art studio, will be overlooking our happy valley from the hill on top of our Lakota Village. It will have an enormous amount of open space to use for whatever kind of art: sculpting, painting, pottery and whatever else our imagination will manifest.

We feel tremendous gratitude for this life of plentitude we are living. Whatever we want, we manifest. Be it a building, a garden, a friend, a hug, a talk, a party, a dinner, or simply the best cake in the world. LIFE IS GOOD!

Magic

Hello, brothers and sisters!

TierraMítica is a magical place, where small and big miracles happen all the time. Why? Well, because it is fun to make them happen!

On a beautiful spot, right next to the entrance of Casablanca, shines Jake’s Turf. Jake is creating his own universe. Through his hands, ancient messages, extra-terrestrial creatures, and magical flowers are coming to life. It is always surprising to see what new creation popped out of his imagination into reality.

Our beloved Asa is determined to make her miracles happen as well. We are in the jungle of Peru, but she decided to create a desert landscape on the Lakota hill. She is using her magic to grow cacti in a place where others would say it cannot be done. But she does not listen to the voices who say what she cannot do. She uses her voice to sing to them and her nursing skills to bandage the sunburned Aloe Vera.

 And what about the story of our little Perlita. Many of you remember her as a scared and skinny little Peruvian dog, who never stopped visiting us and never gave up, although we were trying to chase her away. She succeeded, we opened our heart to her, and not only us, but Huascar too! She became a happy family member and proud mother of Huascar’s sons. She performed a miracle of her own by giving birth to four huge puppies, sons of a father who is over two times her size.

Pictures have been circulating on the web showing a bunch of happy gringos hidden behind a sign. 

Together with the land we bought, came a building in need of a name and a purpose and we are very proud to pronounce that Fort Knox now also exists in Peru. 

Some of us just found out that Babushka in Russian means Grandmother. Thank you Galina, for sharing this ‘coincidence’ with us. Babushka, our ceremonial floor, where so many miracles have happened to our Argonauts, is now undergoing her own. Following another Mikis’ design, she has been growing every day to create space for all the coming Argonauts. If you are thinking about coming for an adventure, stop thinking and register, because the March Mythic Voyage is already fully booked! OH YEAH!!!

Everybody is invited to come and experience all of our ongoing miracles. Or even better, create one – or three – of your own!

The TierraMíticans found their way to the website again, OOOOH YEAH!!!

For the past few months, it was very quiet on the blog, but that is not at all the case for life at TierraMítica! Shit is happening and the work has been accelerating big time.

We want to share our experiences with our family and stay connected. It is our intention to give updates about our adventures on a regular basis from now on. And as you know, guys, intention is what WILL happen, no matter what! Enjoy!

What happened with TierraMítica in the second half of 2013…

Bram decided to leave for a while, we are very thankful for everything he did for TierraMítica. He was amongst many other things an amazing chef, musician and of course the man of the blog.

Loretta left after a stay of nine months, she left her life in Greece and now she is travelling across South America. Afterwards she will stay in TierraMítica forever :) , we are looking forward to see her (and hear her amazing laugh) again. 

Two TierraMíticans joined the family in June, Wendy and Jake! Jake is a kick ass Australian guy, who discovered he is a top notch chef. Taste his fishburgers, they are awesome, just like him! Our wonderful Wendy is now a permanent member of TierraMítica, she gives her love to everything and everybody here.

More recently, four new volunteers joined, our population doubled and we like! Welcome to Lies (November 2013), Galina, Jens and Åsa (December 2013)! All of them were Argonauts before and came back to live another adventure, to do the work, to practice, to create, but most of all to be happy and have fun.

As for structural development, Casablanca is in full use now, she is our living room, dance hall, drum and bass club, hypermodern movie house (7 meter screen, top that!) and permanent art exhibition. One of the main features is our huge transformable round table, an original Mikis design. We are all very proud to present you our newest creation, the flamboyant kitchen area of Casablanca, called Charlotte! The baby shower will take place this week with a French Crêpe party.

Magic is happening all around, like in the smallest bedroom of TierraMítica, our Pequeño. Lies is creating a magical world full of mythical beings. Every day is another surprise, beautiful creatures are manifesting themselves on the walls and ceiling.

TierraMítica is evolving and growing in every way. We bought a new piece of land and the most beautiful gate in the world now stands proudly at the main road, for everybody to see. After entering this portal of magic, a tipi appears on the horizon. He stands in the center of Lakota, our Indian village, together with his friends the Temascal and the Hammock Brothers, waiting for you guys to jump in on the fun.

2013 was a year full of magic and we ended in style with the mythical wedding on New Year’s Eve of Jens and Åsa. Everybody put their energy, love and intention to create this fairytale wedding. Ordinary chairs were turned into majestic thrones, plain wooden handrails started growing the most beautiful flowers, and candles were magically floating on the water. Like a real Cinderella, Åsa lost her shoe just before midnight and her beautiful prince, Jens, came to rescue her. When the clock struck 12, Mikis joined them both as husband and wife.

These are a few highlights of all that has happened here the past months, the spirit of TierraMítica is alive and kicking!
