Peaceful Protest

The trail of observers
Ferd joins the rally

Every single day offers something uniquely special to our lives here at Tierra Mitica. On the 5th of June a small Peruvian village, named Zapatero, decided to set a road block. All traffic was at a standstill for hours. Where it could be seen as a time-delay, instead our curiosity guided us towards the trees dragged across the street to inquire about what was happening. The villagers came together in a peaceful protest, standing up against the contamination of their forests and watershed. Government officials and the representatives of Zapatero sat at the negotiating tables and found a common accord. While much talk around the world spreads about deforestation of the Amazon, it is beautiful that people of this region join together in a common vision and self love. The next generations will benefit from the actions we take now.
